Business Development Manager (BDM)
Job Summary: The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing new business opportunities to drive growth and profitability for the company. The BDM will develop strategies to expand the company's customer base, build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Research & Analysis:
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and industry trends.
- Analyze market data to develop strategies for business growth.
- Monitor competitor activities and develop counter-strategies.
Business Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve company goals.
- Create comprehensive business plans including target markets, sales strategies, and financial projections.
- Set and track sales targets, KPIs, and objectives.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships.
- Build and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients.
- Develop tailored proposals and presentations to meet client needs.
- Log client updates and opportunities in the CRM.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals to achieve sales targets.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Collaborate with marketing, finance, and operations to ensure alignment of business development strategies.
- Work closely with senior management to develop and refine business strategies.
- Lead and mentor junior staff (where applicable).
Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare regular reports on business development activities, sales performance, and market trends.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis and market research.
- Report on progress towards business development goals and objectives.
Other Responsibilities:
- Follow and enforce company policies at all times.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, and professionalism, and promote a positive customer service attitude internally and externally.
- Enforce and abide by the requirements of safe operation and personal safety.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in an aggressive sales environment.
- 5+ years of experience in the NDT industry.
- A proven track record of customer relationships and contract awards in the energy markets.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel as required.
